If you save the article text when you add a web link, you can read it in Reader without a network connection. You can change the text size and theme to read comfortably.

## Open an article in Reader

1. Double-click a web link item to open its preview. If you saved the article, it opens in Reader.
2. To see the page as a web page, turn off :ui[Reader] in the bar at the top. To open the page in your browser, click :ui[Open in Browser].

For a long article, use :ui[Table of Contents] in the bar to jump to a heading.

For a web link without a saved article, you can save it from the preview. Open :ui[Reader Actions] in the bar and choose :ui[Save Reader Article]. To fetch a saved article again, choose :ui[Refresh Reader Article].

## Change the text and theme

Click :ui[Aa] in the bar.

| Setting | Choices |
| --- | --- |
| :ui[Larger Text], :ui[Smaller Text] | Six sizes |
| :ui[Theme] | :ui[Automatic] (matches your Mac's appearance), :ui[Light], :ui[Dark], :ui[Sepia] |
| :ui[Line Spacing] | :ui[Tight], :ui[Normal], :ui[Loose] |
| :ui[Column Width] | :ui[Narrow], :ui[Normal], :ui[Wide] |

Appearance settings are saved on your Mac, not in the library.

Some pages can't be turned into an article. For details, see [A reader article can't be saved](https://soji.dev/en/crabwise/support/troubleshooting/reader-not-saved.md).
