Look back at added items with Rediscover, On This Day, and Forgotten

Updated:

On this page
  1. Look through items one at a time with Rediscover
  2. See On This Day and Forgotten as lists

Items you added and forgot about come back through Rediscover, On This Day, and Forgotten in the sidebar. Use them to look again at things you added.

Look through items one at a time with Rediscover

Up to ten items you haven’t opened in a while are picked at random and shown one by one. Items you opened in the last seven days aren’t picked. The longer an item has gone unopened, the more likely it is to be chosen.

  1. Click Rediscover in the sidebar.
  2. Click Start. The first item appears.
  3. Move with the left and right arrow keys, or Previous and Next. Return and Space also move to the next item.
  4. When you reach the end, click Finish. “That’s all for now” appears.

Choose Shuffle Again to start a new session with different items.

Crabwise records when you open each item. An item opened in Rediscover isn’t picked again for the next seven days.

If there is nothing to look back at, you’ll see “Nothing to rediscover right now.” Add more items, or wait until some haven’t been opened recently.

See On This Day and Forgotten as lists

On This Day lists items you added on today’s month and day (the Created date in the inspector), in any year. Use it to find what you added on this date in earlier years.

Forgotten lists items that were added at least seven days ago and either haven’t been opened for 90 days or more, or have never been opened.

Neither list includes items in the Trash.
