Add notes and ratings

Give each item a note and a star rating. Writing down why you added something helps you remember how to use it later.

Edit in the inspector

1. Select one item.
2. Click Toggle Inspector in the toolbar to show the inspector.
3. Type your note in the notes field. You can change the name and URL in the same inspector.
4. In the rating section, click the number of stars you want. To remove the rating, click Clear.

The Info section of the inspector shows the kind, file name, date created, date modified, and file size.

Ratings run from one to five stars. Items with a rating appear under Rated in the sidebar. You can also sort by rating or use it as a Smart Collection condition.

Change several items at once

When you select several items, the inspector shows how many are selected. Changing a rating, tag, or collection applies to all of them. If the selected items have different ratings, the inspector shows Multiple Values.

When a collection or tag is selected in the sidebar, the inspector shows its name and note.
