Crabwise can suggest collections and tags that fit the items you select. Choose from the suggestions to organize quickly.

Suggestions work on a Mac that supports Apple Intelligence, running macOS 26 or later. Processing happens on your Mac, and the contents of your items aren’t sent to an outside AI service. Only collections and tags already in your library are suggested. New names aren’t suggested, so create the collections and tags you want first.

Organize with suggestions

  1. Select the items to organize. You can select several.
  2. Choose Item > Suggest Collections and Tags…. The Suggested Collections and Tags sheet opens.
  3. Use the checkbox next to each suggestion to choose what to apply. All suggestions start selected, so deselect the ones you don’t want.
  4. Click Add. The chosen collections and tags are applied to the items.

To stop while suggestions are being made, click Stop.

If suggestions aren’t available

If a message appears, follow it.
