Area or length units don't look as expected
Updated:
This article explains what to do if area appears in m² or ft² instead of tsubo or tatami mats, or length input uses decimal feet instead of feet and inches. Check area and length units separately.
Area and length units are saved separately. On first launch, they follow your device region’s measurement system. Regions using the US measurement system default to square feet for area and feet and inches for length. Other regions default to square meters and meters. Your chosen units are saved for the next launch.
Option 1
Choose the area unit again
- Under Total area at the top left of the Floor Plan window, tap the symbol below the number.
- Choose the unit you want from the menu.
You can also change it under Area Unit in Units in Settings.
Option 2
Choose the length unit again
- Tap Settings at the top of the Floor Plan window.
- Under Length Unit in Units, choose Meters or Feet & Inches.
- Tap Done.
Option 3
Recognize displays that stay the same
These displays work as designed regardless of your unit settings.
- The 1 m² label in the actual-size room always uses m² because it identifies a floor tile with 1 m sides.
- Tsubo and pyeong display the same number because they use the same conversion value: 400 ÷ 121 m² per unit.
- When you choose feet and inches, width and depth input fields use decimal feet (ft). Room tiles use a format such as 16′ 5″.
Units save automatically after you choose them.
If the problem continues, include:
- The unit shown and the unit you want to use
- Where the unit differs: Floor Plan, Model, the actual-size room, or the inspector
- Your Madori Walk version
