Can't enter a room at actual size

Updated:

This article explains what to do if you can’t enter a room at actual size. Check the message shown and the button’s state. This can include a space that won’t open, an error message, or a button stuck while opening or closing.

  • Tapping Enter Room at Actual Size doesn’t open the space.
  • The following message appears at the bottom left of the Floor Plan window.
Message shown
Couldn't open the room view.
  • The following message appears after the actual-size space opens.
Message shown
Couldn't start tracking your position.
  • The button stays at Opening… or Closing… and can’t be tapped.

Messages disappear automatically after about five seconds.

While Opening… or Closing… appears, the space is transitioning and the button is disabled. “Couldn’t open the room view.” means the space itself couldn’t open. “Couldn’t start tracking your position.” means position tracking needed to locate the floor couldn’t start.

Option 1

Wait while the space opens or closes

The button is disabled while Opening… or Closing… appears. Wait a few seconds. When the transition finishes, the button returns to Enter Room at Actual Size or Back to Floor Plan.

Option 2

Tap Enter Room at Actual Size again

After “Couldn’t open the room view.” appears, the button returns to Enter Room at Actual Size. Tap it again.

Option 3

Check permission to use information about your surroundings

Madori Walk uses information about your surroundings to detect the floor. If “Couldn’t start tracking your position.” appears, check permission to access your surroundings. Position tracking can also fail to start when permission is granted.

  1. Open the Settings app on Apple Vision Pro.
  2. Tap Privacy & Security, then Surroundings.
  3. Turn on access for Madori Walk. The list shows apps that have requested access.

Option 4

Reopen the app

Quit and reopen Madori Walk. Your saved floor plan remains when you reopen it.

When opening or closing the actual-size space, wait for the button label to change before the next action.

If the problem continues, include:

  • The message shown
  • The button label, such as Opening… or Closing…
  • Your visionOS and Madori Walk versions
